Labels for DYMO printers are a popular choice in labs for their low cost, requiring no added ribbons, toners, or inks for printing. DYMO® LabelWriter® printers are also small and lightweight, taking up little bench space, and can be readily moved throughout the lab to wherever needed. However, these labels traditionally offer limited resistance to many of the conditions encountered in labs, particularly high-heat and chemical exposure that can turn the labels entirely black, obscuring the printout. LabTAG has created a unique line of DYMO-compatible lab labels that will stand up to these harsh conditions.
DYMO-compatible CryoSTUCK® – DYMO-compatible cryogenic labels for frozen surfaces (patent pending)
CryoSTUCK labels allow already frozen vials and tubes to be labeled without the need to thaw them first. These innovative cryo labels can be applied under deep-freeze conditions (-80°C), ideally on dry ice, helping to preserve the integrity of your valuable samples and avoiding deleterious freeze-thaw cycles. Your (re)labeled tubes and vials can then be placed immediately back into cryogenic storage, including liquid nitrogen, as the labels require no cure time for proper adhesion. Their permanent adhesive will ensure the labels will not fail or flag over time.
This innovative product is now available in a DYMO-compatible label format for printing with LabelWriter printers. CryoSTUCK labels for DYMO printers also display excellent resistance to routinely used laboratory chemicals and solvents. They will withstand spraying and direct exposure to alcohols, acetone, xylene, detergents, and various disinfecting solutions, as well as surface sanitizing wipes. They are perfect for research institutes and clinical labs that use cryogenic storage, in addition to biobanks and biorepositories.
Cryo-DTermoTM – DYMO-compatible cryogenic labels
Research labs use cryogenic storage to preserve their valuable samples, important cell lines, as well as regularly used reagents and materials. As such, they also require a durable identification solution that will not fail, especially during long-term storage in ultra-low temperature freezers (-80°C, -50°C, -20°C) and liquid nitrogen tanks (-196°C).
Cryo-DTermo labels are designed for short and long-term cryo storage. They can be used to identify cryo vials, microtubes, cryo/freezer boxes, as well as other cryogenic containers. These cryo labels for DYMO printers are available in a range of sizes, dimensions, and colors to fit your specific container and allow for easy identification using color-coding. They can be printed with human-readable alphanumeric text, as well as sharp 1D and 2D barcodes for improved tracking and added traceability.
Chemical-Resistant Cryo-DTermoTM – DYMO-compatible cryogenic labels for chemical exposure
Containers that will undergo storage in lab freezers and refrigerators may also come into contact with various chemicals and disinfectants. This can include cell culture bottles and flasks that are routinely sprayed with ethanol, laboratory buffers and solutions that need to be wiped down using sanitizing wipes, or cryo vials and tubes that are slowly frozen in containers with isopropanol prior to storage in liquid nitrogen.
These chemical-resistant DYMO-compatible lab labels will withstand low temperature conditions (as low as -196°C), as well as direct exposure to harsh chemicals and solvents. Unlike other direct thermal labels, these labels will not react when exposed to chemicals and will remain legible and scannable following exposure. These solvent-resistant labels for DYMO printers are able to withstand exposure to various alcohols, such as ethanol, methyl ethyl ketone (MEK), toluene, xylene, and surface sanitizing wipes. They have also been shown to resist short-term immersion in alcohols and xylene for up to three minutes.
Transparent Freezer-DTermoTM – DYMO-compatible clear deep-freeze labels (patent pending)
Labs store various containers and solutions in freezers and refrigerators. These containers need to be clearly labeled, including information on the contents, their concentration, as well as preparation and expiration dates. Often, it is also helpful to be able to visually verify the contents of these containers, even after labeling. These transparent, deep-freeze labels will withstand short and long-term storage in low temperatures (-80°C) while ensuring the containers’ contents remain visible at all times. They are ideally suited for containers with precious samples requiring monitoring, like microtubes containing blood and serum samples.
Moreover, these clear freezer-grade labels withstand spraying and wiping with alcohols and disinfecting agents, in addition to tolerating relatively high temperatures, up to +70°C. This makes them perfect for use in cell culture, for identifying culture media bottles, as well as cell culture plates and flasks. They will not obscure the contents of the flasks, allowing the flasks to be observed under the microscope, and will not smear or smudge when sprayed with 70% ethanol prior to placement in the cell culture hood. They are also suitable for extended storage in cell incubators (+37°C). These DYMO-compatible deep-freeze labels can withstand exposure to other harsh chemicals and solvents as well, including xylene, and acetone, so you don’t need to worry about incidental spilling or exposure to such chemicals.
Water Dissolvable DTermoTM – DYMO-compatible paper labels
Labware, especially glassware, needs to be routinely relabeled, sometimes multiple times a day. This labware is also washed between uses to ensure there is no cross-contamination between experiments. This can be done by hand or using lab dishwashers. As such, removable labels that don’t leave behind any adhesive residue are ideal, making the cleaning process more manageable and straightforward.
Paper DYMO-compatible lab labels that can be removed easily by simply exposing the container to water are the perfect solution for this type of labeling. They will disintegrate upon becoming wet and with some light mechanical rubbing, completely dissolving into the wash as a fine slurry that can be safely flushed down drainage systems. These water dissolvable paper labels are an excellent solution for containers subject to frequent washing cycles and require no additional effort to remove. There’s no need to scrape off the left-over adhesive with sharp instruments or harsh chemicals, simply wash them off and relabel them to maintain a fresh-looking appearance from one experiment to the other.
